LOCATION: LIMPOPO/MPUMALANGA

Booysendal Platinum is situated on the border of the Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces near the towns of Mashishing (Lydenburg), Roossenekal and Steelpoort. The mine is located on the southernmost exposure of the eastern limb of the Bushveld Complex with eighty percent of its resources in the Mpumalanga Province. The Mine has a board and pillar mining layout and operates with trackless mechanised mining equipment. Booysendal is a subsidiary of the JSE-listed Northam Platinum Limited, a well-established, mid-tier independent and integrated platinum group metals producer with a strong tradition of innovation and technical expertise in the sector. 

Role requirements

The successful candidate must have the following basic requirements:

• Grade 12 or relevant NQF level 4

• Boilermaking N3 Certificates 

• Two (2) years’ experience as a Boilermaker in a trackless mining environment is required

• Previous experience in conducting risk assessments within area of expertise

• Working knowledge of health and safety procedures, poli?cies, records etc.

• Valid driving licence code B,EB or C1

• Medical Certificate of Fitness

Key performance areas

• Maintaining and repairing of relevant equipment and machin?ery and general housekeeping

• Providing specialised engineering technical services to engi?neering and production teams

• Use experience and knowledge in innovative ways to solve problems

• Ensure the availability of machinery

• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks

• Comply with company policies and procedures.

• Advise the responsible Mechanical Engineering Foreman of any unsafe conditions.
