Job Description 

The manual laborer - Remedial/Secondary Support is chargeable for dominant rehabilitation broken support components among

• designing activities in accordance with the mining set up and allocating resources PRN

• coordinative shift fork up at the start of the shift by checking relevant documentation, the specified physical 

mining activities and communication tasks to team members of the relevant mining crew

This role is within the Mining Department at a Band eight Level and reportingQualifications 

Education required: 

• Grade twelve / N3 / Equivalent NQF Level four qualification

• Blasting Certificate for Underground arduous Rock / Equivalent Qualification

• needed classification as per VTS testing for specific role (Orange)

• laptop skill - MS workplace Suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/Outlook)

• Valid EB/Code eight Drivers License

Experience & information required:

• Minimum of three years underground mining expertise of that a minimum of one year should have enclosed the superior skills 

of designing, organising, leading and dominant

• Sound information and knowledge of: 

o Underground mining practices and operations 

o Understanding of secondary support installation 

o Shotcrete application and long anchor installation 

o Safety, Health and Environmental Legislation and standards applicable to underground mining

o huge Mining, Sub Level Caving, Sub Level Open Stoping, development and Block caving expertise

Other requirements: 

• Be ready to figure shifts, do standby duties, call-outs, and work overtime as per what the role might need
