JOB TITLE: ENGINEERING LEARNER-ELECTRICAL

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: to be trained towards an artisan in leadership program. 

DEPARTMENT AND LOCATION: HRD AND ENGINEERING

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED 

The successful candidate must have the following basic requirements:

• N2 or equivalent at NQF level 4

• English language proficiency

• Drivers license code B, EB or C1

• Medical Certificate of Fitness

• Comfortable working in confined spaces

• Not colour blind

• No major sensory restrictions

• Must be familiar with risk assessment procedures or not and Electrical equipments will be given free

• Supports achievement of production performance levels

• Electrical maintenance and breakdown repairs on the TMM’s

• Teamwork amongst reporting staff

• Administrative and reporting requirements

• Capacity building and performance management

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. 

The successfully candidates responsible to:

• Be trained towards learnership programme. 

• Assist artisans in their functions and also perform technical work(fix, replace and maintain equipments as well as construct and fabricate) by applying engineering principles.

• Get accustomed to murula mine rules, regulations and standards to ensure organizational best practices and legislative compliance are adhered to.

• Work effectively and diligently with an allocated coach (artisan or Foreman) supervisor practice.

• Conduct basic fault diagnostic, problem solving and reporting.

• maintaining engineering equipments effectively and help prevent production losses.

• Act as supervisor with limited authority to gain supervision skills and experience

5. Key performance areas (inclusive but not limited to): Assist artisans with maintenance, electrical faults/breakdowns and new installations on all machines, Ensure that all work is done in a safe manner and all equipment used complies with safety standards, Work or operate in accordance with safe work procedures, Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work place (5s), Perform any other legal and reasonable duties as and where instructed. 

Knowledge, skills and competencies: Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures that apply to electrical infrastructure, Technical aptitude – able to fault find and repair break downs, Ability to follow clear instructions (follow a planned maintenance procedure), Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English & Afrikaans), Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, Systematic, neat & methodical, Analytical, problem solving and organisational skills, Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, Self motivated, disciplined and enthusiastic with high levels of drive and energy, Pro-active and dynamic, Lead and apply proper discipline, Excellent attendance track record, 

Customer Focused, Ability to action tasks and then document as per allocated job cards, Attention to detail, Dependability.
