JOB DESCRIPTION 

We have a great opportunity for you to join our extraordinary team at sishen mine in a three years artisan learnership enrichment program.

Our three years Artisan learnership program is an enrichment program for the community and we will enable you to develop skills with classroom and on the job/core training at sishen mine, this program will enable you to maximize your potential along with a toilored plan to provide you with a future to make a difference. As you process through your artisan learnership program, we will help you discover your real capability and develop your skill as an artisan.

Training program for Artisan Learner

1st year institutional training at sivos, technical training center

2nd year institutional training at Sishen mine

3rd year complete trade test

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

 Completion of all required theoretical modules for the trade

 Undergoing intensive on-the-job training and other related training

 Providing support to the production process with adequate levels of availability and reliability

 Demonstrating the ability to practically conduct maintenance and installations

 Acquiring problems solving and trouble shooting skills

 Adhering to plant rules and regulations

DESIRABLE:

 The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

 Problem solving skills

 Computer literacy

 Independent learning ability and initiative 

ADVANTAGEOUS:

 Relevant work experience (such as employment in a workshop in either an industrial or academic environment)

 CNC programme operation

Candidates shortlisted for interview will be required to perform a skills test in the workshop.

The appointed candidates will be required to go for health screening before they commence the Learnership.

• Valid Code EB/Code 8 Driver’s License.

• Successfully obtain a Red Ticket (Medical Fitness certificate) on mine.

• Your consideration for employment is subject to your SAPS Criminal Record verification and qualifications verification.

SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES:

• Independent, proactive thinking and have the ability to do own job planning including SAP

• Ensure and maintain sound budget control

• Planning, coordinating and prioritizing 

• Analysis and interpretation skills

• Willingness and ability to work overtime and standby

• Knowledge of the Anglo Operating Model will be advantageous.

With Mathematics N2

Engineering Science N2

Electrical Trade Theory N2

Industrial Electronics N2
