PURPOSE AND ROLE
within the BUSINESS:
To support, implement, facilitate, monitor and audit each the compliance and effectiveness of the DBCM
Venetia Mine OHSAS 18001 Safety management system needs, corporate, legal and different
requirements.

KEY RESULT AREAS:
• Support the road to implement and monitor Safety and Health management systems through reducing
and minimizing operational impacts on Safety and Health.
• Co-ordinate Safety and Health assessments, reports and advise operations on applications through
guiding and advising operations on Safety and Health risk identification and management.
• neutral management and data sharing through initiating and rolling out Safety and Health
awareness campaigns, best practices, technologies and relevant instrumentality known.
• Assist with achieving the Group’s and BU’s Safety and Health improvement KPI’s at operational level
through supporting and driving initiative for continuous improvement.
• Assist with the co-ordination of external auditors throughout the auditing method.
• Investigate serious or important incidents to spot root causes and suggest preventative action and,
or measures.
• Maintain the protection risk management system in line with organisational needs.
• Advise and monitor compliance with SAFETY Risk Management factors and legislation.
• Develop, facilitate and gift SAFETY coaching material in line with organisational wants.
• Effectively manage Safety comes at web site.

SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES:
• Clear understanding of OHSAS 18001 and connected standards.
• Basic data of relevant legislation, mine standards, OHSAS 18001, Incident Investigation
techniques, Risk Assessment methodologies.
• OHSAS 18001 – Implementation Course.
• SAMTRAC/SHEMTRAC or similar (advantageous).
• Safety Risk Management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (Education & Experience)
• Grade12/N3 or relevant NQF level four qualification.
• National sheepskin in Safety Management or Bachelor’s degree.

DUTIES
Manage and monitor the implementation of conditions of service and edges such
as leave, conveyance, medical care, resettlements, long service recognition,acting
allowances, injury on duty, housing allowance, overtime, etc. in terms of applicable PSCBC Resolutions.
Implement COIDA methods to enforcecompliance with COIDA Legislation.

Co-ordinate COIDA forms and arbitrate with the Department of
Labour on COIDA claims. Manage and implement Policy on Incapacity Leave and
Ill-Health Retirement (PILIR).

Manage the implementation service termination
process and exit interviews. Approve transactions on PERSAL in line with
delegations. Develop, review and implement 60 minutes policies, procedures and
processes; operational plans, risk management registers and audit action plans.

Management of worker performance and development processes and guarantee
compliance to the PMDS directives. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports,
operational plans, risk management registers and Audit Action plans.

Human resource records and guarantee compliance with the records management
