Job Description 

The manual laborer - Drilling and Blasting is liable for dominant the relevant mining method by the optimum exercise of people and instrumentality to realize stipulated targets in accordance with the mining set up.

• coordinating and observation the relevant Drilling and Blasting activities to make sure adherence to mine standards and operational targets

• The management of all SLC mining connected Explosives

• Bulk Emulsion Handling (storage, transportation, charging and blasting process)

• management of all Long Hole Drilling Consumables, Drill rods, Shanks, Drill bits etc 

• dirt management Management in drilling section 

• designing activities in accordance with the mining set up and allocating resources PRN

• coordinating shift reach at the start of the shift by checking relevant documentation, the desired physical mining activities and act tasks to team members of the relevant mining crew

This role is within the Mining Department at a Band eight Level and news to the Shift Boss.Qualifications 

Education required: 

• Grade twelve / N3 / Equivalent NQF Level four qualification

• Blasting Certificate for Underground arduous Rock / Equivalent Qualification

• needed classification as per VTS testing for specific role (Orange)

• pc attainment - MS workplace Suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/Outlook)

• Valid EB/Code eight Drivers License

Experience & data required:

• Minimum of three years underground mining expertise of that a minimum of one year should have enclosed the superordinate skills of designing, organising, leading and dominant in long hole mining. 

• Sound data and skill of: 

- Underground mining practices and operations 

- Safety, Health and Environmental Legislation and standards applicable to underground mining

- data of Explosives rules (MHSA Chapter 4)

- Explosives Handling 

- expertise in Emulsion Charging Rig operation 

- Electronic Det temporal arrangement 

- Central Blasting System (CBS) 

- Up hole/long hole Charging 

- Sub Level/Block caving

Other requirements: 

• Be ready to figure shifts, do standby duties, call-outs, and work overtime as per what the role might need

• should have sturdy body and organisational skills
