Booysendal Platinum is situated on the border of the Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces near the towns of Mashishing (Lydenburg), Roossenekal and Steelpoort. The mine is located on the southernmost exposure of the eastern limb of the Bushveld Complex with eighty percent of its resources in the Mpumalanga Province. The Mine has a board and pillar mining layout and operates with trackless mechanised mining equipment. Booysendal is a subsidiary of the JSE-listed Northam Platinum Limited, a well-established, mid-tier independent and integrated platinum group metals producer with a strong tradition of innovation and technical expertise in the sector.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS 

The successful candidates must have the following basic requirements:

* Grade 12 or equivalent at NQF level 4

* Blasting Certificate of Competency 

* MQA Fall of Ground campaign certificate of competency will be advantageous 

* Underground Medical Certificate of Fitness 

* At least 3-5 years experience in underground trackless mining 

* Working knowledge of health and safety procedures,policies,records etc

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS 

* Direct and supervise drilling and blasting activities per shift 

* Employee Capacity building and performance management

* Support the optimisation of the shaft 

* Planning and controlling of crew

* Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to all times 

* Ensure that correctly completed time and attendance sheets are handed in monthly for accurate calculations of wages.
