Location: Mpumalanga

Booyesendal Platinum Mines, as part of Northam Platinum Ltd, is offering a variety of Internship opportunities to self-motivated qualifying graduates, within the Engineering/ Science sector.

Internships are available in these fields:

Metallurgy Internship

Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Internship

Mining Engineering Internship

MTS (Mine Technical Services) Internship

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

Metallurgy Internship:

Must have completed Matric/ Grade 12

Must have passed Mathematics and Science in Matric

Must have completed a relevant National Diploma qualification in Analytical Chemistry

Must be medically fit

Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Internship:

Must have completed Matric/ Grade 12

Must have passed Mathematics and Science in Matric, Must have completed one of these qualifications: Bachelors Degree, BTEch, BEng Tech or Advanced Diploma in Mechical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Must be medically fit

Mining Engineering Internship:

Must have completed Matric/ Grade 12

Must have passed Mathematics and Science in Matric

Must have completed one of these qualifications: Bachelors Degree or BTEch in Mining Engineering

- Must be medically fit

MTS (Mine Technical Services) Internship:

- Must have completed Matric/ Grade 12

- Must have passed Mathematics and Science in Matric

- Must have completed one of these qualifications: Bachelors Degree, BTEch or Advanced Diploma in Ventilation (Mining Engineering)

- Must be medically fit

ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:

Northam Platinum Limited (Northam) is the main producer of platinum group metals (PGMs). The main industries that consume PGMs are the motor-manufacturing and jewellery industries.

Booysendal Platinum mining company is located on the border of Mpumalanga and Limpopo, on the southeastern side of the Bushveld Complex. The majority of Booysendal Platinum's resources (80%, to be exact) is sourced from within the Mpumalanga province.

The mine has a pillar and board mining layout, operating with tackles merchandising mining equipment. Booyesendal is a subsidiary of Northam Platinum Ltd and listed on the JSE. Northern Platinum Ltd is a mid-tier, established, integrated, and independent group metals producer with a strong tradition of technical and innovative expertise.
