Booysendal Platinum is situated on the border of the Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces near the towns of Mashishing (Lydenburg), Roossenekal and Steelpoort. The mine is located on the southernmost exposure of the eastern limb of the Bushveld Complex with eighty percent of its resources in the Mpumalanga Province. The Mine has a board and pillar mining layout and operates with trackless mechanised mining equipment. Booysendal is a subsidiary of the JSE-listed Northam Platinum Limited, a well-established, mid-tier independent and integrated platinum group metals producer with a strong tradition of innovation and technical expertise in the sector.

Learnership will be offered in the following engineering disciplines:

- Boilermakers

- Electrical

- Fitting

- Instrumentation

- Rigger

Minimum requirements

- Successfull candidates must successfully completed an N2 certificate or NCV Level 3 certificate or equivalent in the mentioned disciplines

Grade 12 or equivalent at NQF level 4

- Certified competent as an Electrician - Section 13 / 26 (D)

- English language proficiency

- Drivers license code B, EB or C1

- Medium Voltage Competency skills (certificate)

- Medical Certificate of Fitness

- Comfortable working in confined spaces

- Not colour blind

- No major sensory restrictions

- Must be familiar with risk assessment procedures

- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a qualified artisans in a trackless mining environment

Key performance areas

• Electrical equipment maintenance and installation

• Supports achievement of production performance levels

• Ensure that safety regulations are adhered to
