PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To conduct maintenance and emergency repairs safely on trackless mobile machinery

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

▪ Recognized relevant Trade qualification (section 13) is essential Or Proof of recognised completed apprenticeship contract (completed by means of effluxion of time) AND NTC 2 (Relevant Trade Theory) Qualification is essential.

▪ Minimum of 3 years working experience as an Auto Electrician is essential. 

▪ Valid Medical certificate or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate

COMPETENCIES:

▪ Build basic auto electrical circuits 

▪ Construct simple electro-pneumatic/hydraulic circuits 

▪ Knowledge of TMM Machines

▪ Construct and test advanced electronic circuits 

▪ Understand and apply a problem-solving technique

▪ Understand basic electrical and mechanical engineering principles

▪ Demonstrate an understanding of the uses and safety aspect associated with flammable energy sources

▪ Understand basic electronic theory and components

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

▪ Assembling, fitting, and repairing automobile auxiliary harnesses

▪ Fitting and wiring up auxiliary auto-electrical equipment

▪ Removing and fitting automobile mechanical and electrical components

▪ Removing, testing, fitting, and servicing automobile batteries

▪ Servicing and repairing electronic and conventional automobile ignition systems

▪ Tracing and repairing faults on advanced auto electrical circuits

▪ Diagnosing, testing, and repairing conventional automobile systems

▪ Leading the team, planning, allocating and assessing their work

▪ Conducting on-the-job coaching

▪ Attending to callouts with regards to breakdowns.
