APPRENTICESHIP
OPPORTUNITIES AT PEPSICO
Pepsico South African, in partnership with Optimum Engineering Training, are recruiting Apprentices within the following trades at different sites:
- Electrician
- Fitter and Turner
- Millwright
Applicants will go through a screening process and will be placed within a specific trade based on their results, the process include full time classes and on the job training within a fast paced factory environment.
Minimum requirements
- Must be S.A Citizens
- N3 with Mathematics,Engineering Science, Engineering Drawings and trade theory related to the trade or
- Matric with core Mathematics and Physical Science
- Able to Travel
- Able to work shift, public holidays and overtime if required
- Strong Technical aptitude
- Strong work ethic, Positive attitude and committed
- Eager to learn
Key performance areas
- Mechanical equipment maintenance and installation
- Electrical equipment maintenance and installation
- Supports achievement of production performance levels
- Ensure that safety regulations are Maintaining and repairing of relevant equipment and machinery and general housekeeping
- Providing specialised engineering technical services to engineering and production teams
- Use experience and knowledge in innovative ways to solve problems
- Ensure the availability of machinery
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Advise the responsible Mechanical Engineering Foreman of any unsafe conditions
Engineering installations are constructed, repaired and maintained according to agreed standards, policies and procedures
- Continuously analyse and identify opportunities to minimise wastage
Ensure that the process remains fully operational
- Accurate calibration of process instrumentation
- Ensure that safety regulations are adhered to
- Effective systems for management control used
- Understanding of ISO quality systems
Successful applicants will be expected to complete apprenticeship program at the optimum engineering training center, based in Johannesburg, and will therefore be expected to be away from home for extended periods of time.
The apprenticeship programme will run over a period of 4 to 5 years and successful Apprentices will thereafter be considered for employment.
