Gold One Modder East Operation is a gold mine situated in Springs in the East Rand, approximately 30kms east of Johannesburg, in the Gauteng Province. We are currently seeking a candidate to employ in the following vacancy:

BOILERMAKER X1 (GRADING C2)

Reference No : IE16-08-22

Qualifying Criteria :

▪ Grade 12 or equivalent qualification

▪ Relevant Trade Test from a recognised institution

▪ 4-6 years’ experience within a mining or industrial environment

▪ Trackless mining background will be an added advantage

▪ Expert knowledge of underground, surface and shaft installations

▪ Sound knowledge of fabrication skills and be able to interpret engineering fabrication and construction drawings

▪ Computer proficient (MS Excel)

▪ Must be physically fit and able to work on heights

▪ Proficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages 

▪ Applicant must possess good verbal communication skills

▪ South African Citizenship 

▪ Clear Criminal Record 

Responsibilities :

▪ Work rotational shifts

▪ Quality Control and Support in Engineering / Boilermaking section

▪ Specialised knowledge to analyse and solve complex problems

▪ Inspect and repair all components of boilermaker systems and associated mechanical equipment

▪ Conduct all work according to required standards and specifications

▪ Ensure all boilermaking equipment is in good working order at all times

▪ Troubleshooting and detailed fault analysis

▪ Carrying out standard work place inspections and compliance checks and maintaining relevant procedures

▪ Assist in breakdowns when required

▪ Ensure that the correct safety equipment is worn at all times

▪ Manage and maintain in area of responsibility in accordance with mine standards, procedures and practices 

▪ Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1’s safety motto : “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
