JOB TITLE : OM SCHEDULER 

GRADE : GBF 8

OPERATION : DE BEERS CONSOLIDATED MINES (PTY) LTD - VENETIA MINE

PURPOSE AND ROLE IN THE BUSINESS

This role is responsible to assist the Planner in the coordination, and scheduling of work associated with the execution of asset maintenance as follows:

• Scheduling of maintenance activities 

• Allocation of scheduled work orders to relevant resources 

• Coordination of scheduled work activities which are related to work order management by ensuring correct packages are marked ready to execute

KEY RESULT AREAS:

• Execute the “Schedule Work” element of the Operating Model

• Comply with quality specifications and authority levels set out in work management documentation.

• Exhibit effective Team Leadership and Team Membership behaviours

• Review the Work Order Task Status Report on a daily basis: 

o To schedule newly approved work

o To assist in setting the schedule

o To track upcoming work.

• To ensure the proper communication of timing and impact of scheduled work.

• Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful procurement of resources allowing the scheduling of work orders for completion by their Required Date.

• Escalate to appropriate authority in the event that scheduling tasks by the Required Date results in a requirement for additional downtime and/or resources.

• Schedule tasks to minimize the impact on operating performance without exceeding the Required Date for work completion.

• Schedule tasks to minimize the demand for resources without exceeding the Required Date for work completion.

• Schedule approved work orders for execution at a scheduled date prior to the Required Date.

• Follow-up on progress of the weekly schedule execution

• Production of period reports (weekly and monthly) detailing scheduled versus actual work activities and resource usage.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (Education & Experience)

• Grade12/N3 or relevant NQF level 4 qualification with pure Math’s or Math’s Literacy.

• NQF 4 Office Administration.

• 5 Years’ experience as a senior planning clerk.

• 5 Years SAP PM experience

• Operation of Prometheus scheduling software

• Valid EB/Code 8 Drivers license.

• Successfully obtain a Red Ticket (Medical Fitness Certificate)

• The post is dependent on the successful completion of the Company’s pre-employment protocol such as qualifications verification, relevant psychometric assessments and a clear security clearance

SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES:

• Experienced in using a computerised planning system (e.g. SAP)

• Working Knowledge of client disciplines – Metallurgy, Mining, or Engineering

• Teamwork, sound interpersonal skill and good work ethics

• Previous scheduling of maintenance activities
